fomo app review (2026): fees, safety and who it is for

fomo is a social crypto trading app that makes buying memecoins on Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Monad and Robinhood Chain about as easy as buying anything else with Apple Pay. One balance, gas included, a feed of other traders’ positions, and since June 2026 a perps market that reaches into US stocks and commodities (not for U.S. Persons). The app is well built and well funded. The trades on it are high risk and most people lose money.

This fomo app review is built from fomo’s published documentation, its funding announcements and the app store listings. It is not a diary of a trading session. There are no profit screenshots here because we have not traded on it, and any review that opens with a P&L screenshot deserves suspicion anyway. What follows is what the app costs, how it holds your money, what it does well, and where the documentation runs out.

What fomo is, in one paragraph

FOMO Labs Inc. was founded in 2025 by Paul Erlanger, Se Yong Park and Prashan Dharmasena, all formerly of dYdX. The company has raised about $94M: a $2M pre-seed, a $17M Series A led by Benchmark and a $75M Series B led by Index Ventures at a reported valuation of about $550M. At the Series B, fomo reported 625,000+ users and $4B in cumulative trading volume. For more on the product itself, read what is the fomo app; for the company, who owns the fomo app.

Fees: what a trade costs

fomo’s FAQ describes its pricing as a “competitive trading fee, gas included, no hidden spreads”. It does not print a number. The spot fee is about 0.45% per trade, which we treat as the working figure until the app shows you otherwise on the confirm screen.

WhatCostNote
Spot buy or sellAbout 0.45%Gas included; check the app
Round trip (buy then sell)About 0.9%Before any price move
Perps0.05% plus protocol feesIsolated margin; not for U.S. Persons
ACH bank depositFree, 1 to 5 daysPer fomo’s FAQ
Apple Pay depositFee not publishedFunds available immediately

0.45% is not the cheapest way to swap a Solana token, and it is not trying to be. You are paying for gas abstraction, one balance across chains and a phone app that does not make you think about RPC endpoints. Whether that is worth it depends on your trade size and how often you trade. The fomo app fees page works through some examples.

Safety and custody

fomo is self-custodial. The wallet is powered by Privy, login is by email code or Apple ID with biometrics, and there is no seed phrase. Trades route through DFlow for MEV protection. fomo says plainly that “no platform is immune to all risks”, and fomo.family does not mention an independent audit.

Our read: this is a sensible setup for a memecoin app, and it is better than a custodial exchange from a counterparty-risk point of view. It is still a hot wallet on a phone. Keep trading money in it, not savings. The is the fomo app legit page goes deeper on custody and the red flags worth watching.

Funding, deposits and withdrawals

Signup takes under 30 seconds on web and does not require KYC. Funding options per fomo’s FAQ: Apple Pay (immediate, Face ID or Touch ID), debit card (fast, but your bank may block it), ACH bank transfer (free, 1 to 5 days) and crypto transfer from another wallet. Limits and onramp fees are not published.

Withdrawals are where the documentation gets thin. fomo says bank withdrawals arrive within 3 business days, that first-time withdrawals may need extra verification, and that large amounts may get extra review. Crypto withdrawal to your own external wallet is the self-custody route; the flow, minimums and network fee handling are not documented on fomo.family. Read the withdraw screen carefully the first time. Our fomo app withdrawals guide covers what to look for.

The social layer

This is the part that makes fomo different from a wallet with a swap button. There is a feed, a leaderboard of profitable traders, the ability to follow traders and get alerts when they move, “theses” (short write-ups on why someone is in a coin), threaded comments, a quick buy button and coin pages with holder details.

Copy trading is discussed in fomo’s FAQ, but the exact mechanics (one-tap copy, auto-copy, position sizing) are not documented publicly. Until we can confirm them, think of it as following and mirroring, not automated copying. Our fomo app copy trading page tracks what is confirmed.

One opinion: the leaderboard cuts both ways. Seeing who is up 400% this week is exactly the kind of thing the app is named after. Following a profitable trader into a coin after they have already bought it is how most followers end up as exit liquidity.

Perps, stocks and indices

Perpetuals launched on 11 June 2026, powered by Hyperliquid and Trade[XYZ]. Markets include crypto (BTC, ETH, SOL, HYPE), US equities (NVDA, GOOGL, AMD, MU, SNDK), a pre-IPO market (SpaceX), indices (S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, Kospi 200, Nikkei 225) and commodities (oil, silver, gold, copper, natural gas). Margin is isolated, and take profit and stop loss orders are available on perps.

Two caveats. These are derivatives, not shares; you never own NVDA stock through fomo. And fomo’s own announcement says perpetuals are not available to U.S. Persons.

Platforms: iOS, Android and web

fomo runs on iOS (“fomo: never miss out”, App Store id6741115427), Android (Google Play, package family.fomo.app) and on the web at fomo.family since 29 April 2026, with the same account and balance as mobile. fomo describes the web app as “not a trading terminal”. A TradingView partnership was announced in April 2026. We have not confirmed that Android matches iOS feature for feature. See fomo app on PC if you mostly trade from a desk, and fomo app download for the listings.

What this review could not verify

Being honest about the gaps is more useful than pretending they do not exist:

  • The exact current spot fee and whether a referral discount applies to it. Third parties report a 10% fee discount for referred users; fomo’s affiliate page does not say.
  • Withdrawal minimums, network fees and whether a fiat off-ramp exists in-app for every region.
  • Stop loss and limit orders on spot. Only confirmed on perps.
  • The copy trading mechanics.
  • Country availability beyond the perps restriction.

If you find any of these documented, the app’s own screens beat anything written here.

Reddit, Trustpilot and app store reviews

You will find fomo app reviews on Reddit and the app stores. We do not quote them because they cannot be verified and the app changes monthly. When you read them, weight a dated complaint about a stuck withdrawal far above a one-star review from someone whose coin went to zero. The second kind is the majority on every memecoin app and says nothing about this one.

Who it is for, and who should skip it

Good fit: someone who already trades memecoins on Solana or Base, uses a phone, and wants one balance instead of four wallets and a bridge. Also a reasonable fit for someone who wants to watch what specific traders are doing before deciding anything.

Bad fit: anyone who wants to buy and hold Bitcoin or Ethereum (a plain exchange is cheaper), anyone who needs limit orders on spot today, and anyone in the US who came for the stock perps.

Verdict

fomo does what it says. On paper it is the simplest way to buy memecoins across six chains from a phone, it is self-custodial, and the company behind it is real and well capitalized. The fee is fair for what it abstracts away, not cheap.

None of that changes the math of memecoin trading. This is high-risk speculation, not investing, and most people who do it lose money. Nothing here is financial advice. Trade with money you can afford to write off, and if you want to see what a round trip actually costs before you start, try the meme coin profit calculator.

Questions people ask

Is the fomo app worth it?

If you already trade memecoins across Solana and Base and are tired of juggling wallets, bridges and gas, yes, the one-balance model saves real friction. If you have never bought crypto and want to hold Bitcoin, it is the wrong tool.

Does the fomo app really work?

Yes. fomo reported $4B in cumulative volume and more than 625,000 users at its June 2026 Series B. Working as an app is different from making you money; most memecoin traders lose.

Is fomo app good for beginners?

The signup and Apple Pay funding are beginner friendly, and fomo says 68,000+ people made their first crypto purchase through it. The trading itself is not. Memecoins are the riskiest corner of crypto, and a smooth app makes it easier to lose money quickly.

Is fomo app on Trustpilot?

We have not verified a Trustpilot page for fomo and do not cite star ratings here. Read individual reviews for specific, dated problems with withdrawals or logins, and ignore ratings that only complain about a coin going to zero.

What is the fomo never miss out app?

That is the iOS App Store listing name for the fomo app (id6741115427). Same product, same company, FOMO Labs.

Where is the fomo app tutorial?

Our how to use the fomo app guide walks through signup, funding, buying and selling using fomo's published steps.
