fomo app not working? Status, outages and support

, 7 min read. Research guide, not first-hand testing.

Status: No known outage right now Updated 2026-09-04

We update this line by hand when traders report failed sells, stuck deposits, or app-wide errors. If you are seeing problems that are not listed here, check the fomo team's official channels before assuming the issue is on your end.

If you are here because the fomo app is down, or you think it is, start with the status note above. It is edited by hand whenever traders report app-wide problems, so if it says nothing is known and you are still stuck, the problem is more likely on your side of the connection.

Nothing here is first-hand testing. It is based on fomo’s own help pages and on the usual causes of these errors on Solana trading apps.

Where to check the fomo app status

fomo.family does not list a status page. The channels it does list are Discord, X (@fomo), Instagram (@tryfomo), YouTube and LinkedIn. For outages, only two of those matter.

X @fomo is where the team posts announcements and, in practice, where any incident notice would appear. Search the account’s recent posts and replies before assuming the app is broken.

Discord is the live channel. If something is degraded, other traders will be complaining there inside a couple of minutes, which makes it a better real-time indicator than any status page. The invite is linked from fomo.family.

There is no fomo Telegram. fomo.family does not list one. Telegram groups using the fomo name, especially ones offering “support” or asking you to verify your wallet, are not run by fomo and are where phishing tends to happen.

For app updates, the only sources to trust are the App Store listing (id6741115427, listed as “fomo: never miss out”) and Google Play (package family.fomo.app). The fomo app download guide covers spotting fake listings.

The app will not open or crashes on launch

Work through this list in order. The second step fixes most cases.

  1. Force quit the app and reopen it.
  2. Check the App Store or Google Play for a pending update. Trading apps ship often, and an old build can fail against a new backend.
  3. Check your connection by loading any other site. Switch between wifi and mobile data.
  4. Restart the phone.
  5. Check Discord or X to see if others report the same thing.
  6. Delete and reinstall. Your funds are in a self-custody wallet tied to your login rather than stored inside the app itself, so reinstalling does not touch your balance. You will need to log in again with your email code or Apple ID.

If the web app at fomo.family loads and shows your balance while the phone app will not, the problem is the mobile build, and step 2 or 6 usually fixes it. The fomo app on PC guide explains the web version, which uses the same account and balance.

“Failed to sell” on the fomo app

This is the error people search for most, and the token, rather than fomo, nearly always causes it. Four causes cover most cases.

The first is slippage set too low for the pool. Meme coins with thin liquidity move a lot on each trade. If the price shifts more than your slippage tolerance between tapping sell and the transaction landing, the trade reverts. Try selling a smaller chunk, then raise slippage in steps. Every step up costs you more on the fill, so raise it only as far as needed.

The second is Solana congestion. When the network is busy, transactions drop or time out. Wait a minute and try again. Watching Discord tells you whether everyone is seeing the same thing.

The third is a honeypot. Some contracts let you buy and then block or heavily tax sells. If every attempt fails at any slippage while other coins sell fine, the coin is likely the problem, and there may be no fix. The memecoin trading glossary explains honeypots and how to spot them before buying next time.

The fourth is not having enough balance to cover the fee. fomo includes gas in its trading fee, but the trade still needs to clear. If you are trying to sell your entire position and the app rejects it, try 95% instead.

If none of that applies and buys are failing as well, treat it as an app-side issue and check the status channels. For closing positions generally, including partial sells, see how to sell on the fomo app.

Deposit is stuck or not showing

The fix depends on how you funded.

With Apple Pay, fomo says funds are available immediately. If it has been more than a few minutes, check the transaction in your Apple Wallet. If it shows as declined, your bank blocked it. If it shows as complete and fomo shows nothing, contact support with the transaction time.

With a bank transfer (ACH), fomo’s FAQ says the deposit is free but takes 1 to 5 business days. A deposit sent yesterday is inside the normal window.

With a debit card, fomo’s FAQ describes the deposit as fast but says your bank may block it. A card deposit that never appears is usually a bank-side block. Check your bank app for a declined or pending charge.

With a crypto transfer, the most common failure is sending on the wrong network. fomo supports Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Monad and Robinhood Chain, and sending a token on a network fomo did not give you an address for can be unrecoverable. Confirm the transaction on a block explorer for the chain you sent on. If it confirmed on-chain but is not showing in fomo, wait a few minutes, restart the app, then contact support with the transaction hash.

The how to deposit on the fomo app guide has the arrival times for each method in one place.

Balance not showing or showing zero

A zero balance after login is scary. With self-custody it is usually a display problem.

  • Make sure you logged in with the same email or Apple ID you signed up with. A different email creates a different wallet with a different (empty) balance.
  • Pull to refresh, then force quit and reopen.
  • Check the web app at fomo.family. If the balance shows there, the phone app is out of sync and an update or reinstall fixes it.
  • If a coin you bought is missing, it may have been delisted from price feeds after its liquidity was pulled. The tokens are still in your wallet, they just have no price.

If the balance is zero everywhere and you are sure it is the right account, contact support immediately through Discord, and do not sign any transaction anyone sends you while you wait.

Login code not arriving

fomo logs you in with an email code or Apple ID. When the code does not arrive:

  • Check spam and promotions folders. Codes from new senders land there.
  • Wait two minutes before requesting another. Requesting several in a row can invalidate earlier ones.
  • Confirm the email address has no typo. A code sent to the wrong address will never show up.
  • If you signed up with Apple ID, use that button instead. It skips the email step.
  • Corporate or school email domains sometimes block automated senders. Try from a personal address if that is what you signed up with.

Nobody from fomo will ever ask you for a login code. If someone in Discord or on X asks for one, block them.

How to reach fomo support

fomo.family lists Discord and X among its channels and shows no support email or ticket form. The practical order is:

  1. Search Discord for your error message. Someone has usually hit it already.
  2. Post in the relevant Discord channel with your device, app version, the exact error text, and for deposits the transaction hash or time. Do not post your email or wallet key.
  3. Message @fomo on X if Discord is quiet.

Be suspicious of anyone who DMs you first. Real support does not open with a direct message asking you to “verify” anything.

Withdrawing while things are broken

If the app is degraded and you want your money out, the web app at fomo.family is worth trying first, since it shares the account and balance. fomo says bank withdrawals arrive within 3 business days, first withdrawals may need extra verification, and large amounts may get extra review, so a withdrawal that is “stuck” for a day is usually inside the normal window. The fomo app withdrawals guide covers the full flow and what fomo has and has not published about crypto withdrawals to an external wallet.

Deleting your fomo account

Some people land on this page ready to be done with the app. Before deleting anything, get your funds out. Withdraw to a bank or to an external wallet you control, and confirm the money has arrived. Deleting the account without emptying the wallet is the one mistake here that can be permanent. The how to delete your fomo app account guide lists the checklist in order, including what to check about your wallet keys before the final tap.

Questions people ask

Is the fomo app down right now?

Check the status note at the top of this page first, then fomo's X account @fomo and its Discord. fomo.family does not list a status page, so those two channels are where outage notices appear.

Why does the fomo app say failed to sell?

Usually one of four things: the coin's liquidity is too thin for your slippage setting, the Solana network is congested, the token contract blocks sells (a honeypot), or the app cannot reach fomo's servers. Try a smaller amount with higher slippage first.

Does the fomo app have a Telegram group?

No. fomo.family lists Discord, X, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. Any Telegram group claiming to be fomo support is not listed by fomo and should be treated as a scam risk.

How do I contact fomo app support?

Through the Discord server linked from fomo.family, or by messaging @fomo on X. fomo.family does not list a support email or phone line. Never share a login code or wallet key with anyone claiming to be support.

How do I know if a problem is fomo or my phone?

If other traders in Discord or on X report the same error within the same few minutes, it is fomo. If nobody else is complaining, restart the app, check for an update in the App Store or Google Play, and check your connection.
