what are fomo clans

fomo clans are named teams of traders inside the fomo app. Everyone in a clan keeps their own account and trades their own money, and the clan gets ranked against other clans on what the whole group made. fomo launched them on 10 August 2026, and since 9 October anyone can start one.

That is the entire product in two sentences, which is more than fomo has written down anywhere. There is no clan page on fomo.family, no entry in its answers section, and nothing in the help content. Everything on this page comes from fomo’s own announcements, from one piece of third-party coverage, and from counting clan tags on the leaderboard by hand.

Memecoin trading is high-risk speculation, not investing and not financial advice. Most people who trade memecoins lose money, and joining a team does not change the odds. It changes who is watching.

Everything fomo has said about clans

Three posts, in order. The wording matters, because it is all there is.

10 August 2026, launch. “Clans are now live. Form a family. Trade as a squad. Build an audience together. Join more than 50 clans today.” Note the third sentence. Audience is listed as a reason to form a clan, alongside trading.

2 September 2026, invites. “Introducing clan invites on fomo. Bet on yourself, choose a clan, trade together. Join more than 150 clans today.” Clan count had tripled in three weeks. Under that post, co-founder Se Yong Park joked that nobody has to ask a colleague to add people to clans by hand any more, which tells you what joining looked like for the first month: a manual favour.

9 October 2026, self-serve. “Clans are now self-serve for everyone on fomo. Start one. Invite your friends. Grow together. The future of trading is social.” This is the one that changed the feature from something you were let into to something you can open yourself.

What a clan is, in practice

A clan is a group identity bolted onto a leaderboard. Members trade separately, as they always did, and the clan’s position comes from the group’s combined profit and loss. A September 2026 guide from Odaily describes clans as fomo’s team-based feature, with a group of traders ranked by the team’s overall PnL, and suggests reading the 7 day and 30 day clan rankings rather than the all-time one.

The practical effect is that your results stop being only yours. A good week lifts the clan, a bad one drags it, and both are visible to everyone in the group and to anyone browsing the rankings. If you have read how the fomo app works, clans sit on the same social layer as the feed, the follower counts and the trade thesis posts.

How to join or start a clan

There are two routes, and which one is open to you depends on when you are reading this. By invite, which has worked since 2 September 2026: a member sends you one and you accept. Or by creating your own, which fomo opened to everyone on 9 October 2026.

Before those dates, neither existed. Clans were set up for people by someone at fomo, which is why the early ones cluster around accounts that already knew the team. If you want in and nobody has invited you, starting your own is now the shorter path.

fomo has not published a walkthrough for either, and this site does not publish invented screenshots or step lists for screens it cannot verify. The app is the place to look, and the profile and leaderboard screens are where clan tags appear.

The clan tags on the leaderboard

The all-time leaderboard shows a tag next to some names, and the tags behave exactly like clan names: several traders share one. When the board was captured on 11 October 2026, 34 of the top 100 traders carried a tag and 22 different tags appeared. The other 66 traded under no group at all.

Ten tags showed up more than once:

TagTraders in the top 100Best-ranked member

Fantom Troupe21
Risk On28
chubbicorns212
Troupe KZ228
HFT235
Reach241

Prosperity Customer Funds292

Twelve more appeared once each, including Control The Narrative, Proof of Alpha, Nobi Ventures, Watchers, The Light and PBCSF Tsinghua University.

Two things are worth taking from that table. The top-ranked trader on the whole board carries a tag, so clans are not a beginner feature that serious accounts ignore. And a group holding three of the top 100 slots is one opinion showing up three times, not three independent opinions, which is the trap described on the top traders page.

These are tags shown in the app on one day rather than a published clan roster. fomo does not publish a clan directory, so nothing here is an audited membership list.

What fomo has not published

The gaps are large enough to list, because a feature this new attracts confident guesses:

  • No clan size limit, minimum or maximum, has been stated.
  • No ranking formula. Whether clan PnL is realized only, how it handles a member joining mid-month, and which time windows exist are all undocumented.
  • No rewards. There is no published prize, fee discount or token for a clan that ranks well, and fomo frames clans around ranking and audience instead.
  • No rules on leaving, removal or renaming.
  • No clan page on the website at all. The address fomo.family/clans simply serves the homepage, the same way its /faq path does.

If you read a number about clan payouts somewhere, it did not come from fomo.

What a clan does to your trading

This is the part worth slowing down for. Everything else on this page is mechanics.

A clan adds teammates to a losing position. On your own, a bad trade is a private mistake you can close quietly. In a clan it is a line on a shared scoreboard, and the pressure runs one way: toward holding something you should have sold so the clan’s number looks better by the weekend, or toward sizing up to make a loss back before the window closes. Neither of those is a trading decision. Both are social ones.

The audience framing in fomo’s own launch post is honest about what clans are for. Building an audience together is a growth feature, and a group with an audience has a reason to want other people in the trades it already holds. That is not a conspiracy, it is just an incentive, and it is the same incentive covered in the copy trading guide.

So the useful questions before you join one are not about rank. Does the clan post reasoning you can judge, or only wins? Would you take the same position alone? Do you know how the members size and exit, which is the only part of someone’s record worth copying? The honest arithmetic on all of this lives in how to make money on the fomo app, and the memecoin profit calculator will show you what a clan-sized position does to your own balance before anyone sees it.

A clan cannot improve your entries, your sizing or your exits. It can only make all three more public, and public is not the same as better.

Questions people ask

What are fomo clans?

Clans are named teams of traders on the fomo app. Members keep their own accounts and trade their own money, and the clan is ranked against other clans on the combined results of everyone in it. fomo launched them on 10 August 2026.

How do I join a fomo clan?

By invite from a member, or by starting your own. Joining used to mean asking someone at fomo to add you by hand. Clan invites arrived on 2 September 2026, and since 9 October 2026 fomo says clans are self-serve for everyone, so no approval is needed.

Can anyone start a fomo clan?

Yes, as of 9 October 2026. fomo's announcement says clans are now self-serve for everyone on fomo and invites users to start one and bring friends in. Before that, clans were created for people rather than by them.

How are fomo clans ranked?

On the clan's combined profit and loss rather than on any one member's. Coverage from September 2026 describes clans as ranked by the team's overall PnL, over the same kinds of time windows the individual leaderboard uses. fomo publishes no formula.

How many clans are there on fomo?

fomo said more than 50 at launch on 10 August 2026 and more than 150 on 2 September 2026. It has not published a figure since clans went self-serve in October, and the real number is now almost certainly higher.

Do fomo clans pay rewards or prizes?

Nothing public says they do. fomo describes clans in terms of ranking and audience, not payouts, and there is no published prize pool, fee discount or token reward for a clan placing well. Treat any claim otherwise as unverified.
