Who owns the fomo app? FOMO Labs, founders and funding

FOMO Labs Inc. owns the fomo app. The company was founded in 2025 by Paul Erlanger, Se Yong Park and Prashan Dharmasena, three engineers who previously worked at dYdX, and it has raised about $94M in disclosed funding across three rounds. The most recent, a $75M Series B led by Index Ventures in June 2026, valued the company at around $550M according to Fortune and The Block.
If you are asking “who owns fomo app” as a trust check, that is the short version: named founders with traceable careers, institutional investors who have done their own diligence, and public announcements you can read yourself. The rest of this page lays out the founders, the funding timeline, what is known about revenue and valuation, and where the company is hiring.
Who made the fomo app: the founders
The three founders share a dYdX background. dYdX is a decentralized derivatives exchange, which may be why fomo’s June 2026 perps launch came with isolated margin and stop loss orders rather than a bolt-on. Before dYdX, Paul Erlanger and Se Yong Park worked together at Deutsche Bank for five years. Index Ventures, Fortune and The Block have all covered the founding team.
fomo does not publish a detailed org chart, and we are not going to guess at titles beyond “founders”. That is a normal amount of information for a company at this stage.
Funding timeline
| Round | Announced | Lead | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-seed | 28 Feb 2025 | 140+ angels | $2M | Included Raj Gokal (Solana co-founder), Balaji Srinivasan, Bryan Pellegrino (LayerZero), Marc Boiron (Polygon Labs), Paul Veradittakit (Pantera), Rob Hadick (Dragonfly) |
| Series A | 6 Nov 2025 | Benchmark | $17M | Coinbase Ventures participated; total funding $19M |
| Series B | 22 Jun 2026 | Index Ventures | $75M | Union Square Ventures and Benchmark participated; valuation about $550M |
Total disclosed funding is roughly $94M. The Series B angel list included Mark Pincus (Zynga), Kevin Hartz (Eventbrite) and Humam Sakhnini (Discord CEO). fomo published both the pre-seed announcement and the Series A announcement on its own blog, which is the place to check the details rather than a third-party summary.
Benchmark leading the A and then putting more money into the B a year later is the part worth noticing. A lead investor re-upping is a stronger signal than a new one arriving.
fomo app valuation and “net worth”
Searches for “fomo trading app net worth” are really asking about the company’s valuation. The figure reported by Fortune and The Block at the Series B is about $550M. That is a valuation agreed between the company and its investors; it is not cash in the bank, and it is not what the app would sell for tomorrow. The reports do not say whether the figure is pre- or post-money, so we will not do the ownership arithmetic here.
Revenue: what fomo does and does not disclose
fomo does not publish revenue. What it does publish are usage numbers, and you can reason from those:
- At the Series A (November 2025): 120,000+ users, 35,000+ traders and nearly $700M in volume over a six-month beta.
- At the Series B (June 2026): 625,000+ users, $4B in cumulative volume, 110M+ social interactions, and 68,000+ first-time crypto buyers who funded through Apple Pay, totaling $25M.
- The fomo.family homepage now says “join 500,000 traders”.
fomo’s income comes from trading fees: about 0.45% per spot trade and 0.05% plus protocol fees on perps. Multiply the volume by the fee and you get a rough ceiling, not a reported number. We are not going to print an estimate because it would be a guess dressed up as a fact. If you want the fee details, see fomo app fees.

When did the fomo app come out?
There is no single launch date in fomo’s public materials, so here is the timeline as fomo’s own posts describe it:
- 28 February 2025: pre-seed announced.
- Mid-2025: the November Series A post refers to a six-month beta, so the first users were on the app by around May 2025.
- September 2025: Base added.
- October 2025: BNB Chain added.
- November 2025: Monad mainnet support; Series A announced.
- 14 April 2026: TradingView partnership announced.
- 29 April 2026: web app launched at fomo.family, same account and balance as mobile.
- 11 June 2026: perpetuals launched, powered by Hyperliquid and Trade[XYZ].
- 22 June 2026: Series B announced.
Ethereum and Robinhood Chain are supported but fomo’s recaps do not give us a clean date for either, so we leave those undated.
Evaluating FOMO Labs as a fintech company
If you are weighing whether to trust the company with your trading balance, a few points cut both ways.
In its favor: the founders are named and have relevant backgrounds, the investors are well known and have re-upped, the fee policy is published, and the custody model is self-custody (your wallet is powered by Privy, not a company account). That last point matters most. If FOMO Labs disappeared, your tokens would still be in your wallet.
Against, or at least unresolved: fomo.family does not mention an independent security audit, the company is under two years old, and it operates in memecoins, a market where the tokens themselves are frequently scams. The company being real does not make the trades safe. Memecoin trading is high-risk speculation and most people who do it lose money; nothing here is financial advice.
